“How I embrace equity in my field:
In clinical research, we innovate in different ways to improve equity in patient engagement by addressing specific issues at different levels. Working in clinical research for more than 15 years, I had to contribute to these strategies to improve patient access to clinical trials. I also had the opportunity to mentor several young women starting out in this field and support them in their career development. Empowered women empower women and that I truly believe in.
Women are the ones who are often the most solicited in the family organization in addition to their career and therefore, more often neglect their mental and physical health. Now with KnowMediq, my mission is to create an accessible, easy-to-use health and wellness network for all caregivers and women so they can prioritize their overall health and wellness. A network that is culturally diverse so people can better relate to their health care providers for more effective care. A network promoting and informing about the best health advice to adopt for a more balanced life and informing future generations about the multiple roles in health and well-being where people like them excel. That is how I believe will help reach equity in healthcare.”
